Coconut cream is the thick, extrarich layer that rises to the top of coconut milk, which is sold in cans in well-stocked grocery stores and Asian markets.
To obtain coconut cream:
Remove the top from an unshaken can of coconut milk and scrape off the thick, semisolid layer of cream, or pour the milk into a glass container and let the cream rise to the top.
