Don 't let the sauerkraut fool you
INGREDIENTS (for 8 servings):
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup drained and chopped sauerkraut
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 (9 inch) pie shell
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine milk, sauerkraut, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted into filling 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
