Classic and simple, this pie is dependable and delicious. Sugar, butter and eggs are creamed together, along with vanilla and cream. Then the mixture is poured into a 9-inch pie shell and baked.
INGREDIENTS (for 8 servings):
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
Cream sugar and butter or margarine.
Add eggs one at a time, and mix well.
Add cream and vanilla to this mixture, and blend well.
Pour mixture into 9 inch pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes, or until set and brown on top.
