This is a very simple, very creamy custard pie. All the ingredients stir up in one bowl, then the mixture is poured into an unbaked pie shell, dusted with cinnamon and nutmeg, and baked for an hour.
INGREDIENTS (for 8 servings):
- 1/2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Beat eggs with a whisk. Beat in sugar, milk, and salt. Pour filling into pie crust. Sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon on top.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes.
