An easy to make, delicate cookie...nice for wedding receptions.
INGREDIENTS (for 4 servings):
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Combine dry ingredients. Cream sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture and blend in nuts.
Roll into balls, place on cookie sheet and flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
