Advertizing:

Chocolate and pears are a perfect combination, and this sauce is an example of how easy perfection can be. Vanilla ice cream is the classic, but experiment with other flavors, such as mint chocolate chip

INGREDIENTS (for 6 servings):

PREPARATION:

  • In a medium saucepan, heat the milk and chocolate over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is hot. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the reserved pear syrup.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly before ladling over the ice cream. Spoon the pears over the sundaes. Garnish with mint sprigs, if desired.

  • Tip:

New to the market is chocolate-flavored sweetened condensed milk. Don't hesitate to vary the sauce using other chocolate-friendly canned fruits, such as Mandarin oranges, apricots or peaches. And you'll still be getting one of your recommended daily servings of fruit.
