These fluffy biscuits are so tasty served warm, slathered with butter or used to mop up every last drop of gravy off your plate.
INGREDIENTS (for 1 servings):
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
PREPARATION:
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk; knead dough gently. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-1/2-inch, biscuit cutter and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown.
