My grandmother would whip this up whenever company dropped by in the summer, or for family dinners on Sunday afternoon. Top with sliced fresh fruit.
INGREDIENTS (for 2 servings):
- 1 (18.5 ounce) package yellow cake mix
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Prepare cake mix as directed on package.
For the frosting: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then fold in whipped topping and mix until smooth. Spread on top of cooled cake.
Top with sliced fresh fruits, such as strawberries, kiwi, peaches, pineapple, blueberries, etc.
