Ground cumin, chile peppers and ginger are stirred into a hot mixture of tomatoes, crushed pineapple and water. This is when your kitchen begins to smell wonderful. Add a bit of cilantro, lime juice and golden-roasted cumin seeds. Soup for four.
INGREDIENTS (for 4 servings):
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 minced hot green chile peppers

- 1 tomato, diced (optional)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

In a small pan, heat oil over medium heat, and add the remaining cumin seeds. Fry till golden, and add to the soup as a garnish.
