Dried cranberries, which resemble raisins in shape and texture, are kiln-dried, lightly sugared cranberries that are available year-round. They are eaten out of hand and used as an ingredient in baking and in sauces and chutneys. Tightly wrapped dried cranberries last for months in the refrigerator or freezer.
