Crisp, spicy refrigerator treats. Pecans work just as well as almonds for this recipe.
INGREDIENTS (for 2 servings):
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
PREPARATION:
Mix brown sugar, butter or margarine, and water. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in nuts and mix well.
Shape in roll 2 1/2 inches in diameter, cover and chill until firm.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Cut dough into 1/8-1/4 inch slices. Bake on greased cookie sheet 8-10 minutes.
