This delicious recipe is a great new twist on an old favorite. Tahini and sesame seeds give the cake a rich, nutty flavor that you won't find in other coffee cakes.
INGREDIENTS (for 9 servings):
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup honey
- 3/4 cup tahini
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup water
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a tube pan or a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl combine oil, honey, tahini, baking powder and nutmeg; mix well. Stir in flour, sesame seeds and water. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
