This rich vanilla scented custard pie is made with whole eggs, buttermilk and butter.
INGREDIENTS (for 8 servings):
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1/4 pound butter, melted
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar and butter. Mix in the buttermilk, vanilla and flour. Pour filling into pie crust.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
