Spreading Meringue
With a rubber spatula or spoon, spread the meringue in a greased pie plate. Remove any buildup from the spatula by dipping it in cold water and wiping it clean.

Coating the Sides
Be sure that the bottom and sides are uniformly thick. As you build the shell, push up the sides to form a high edge.
